    Smile Dust Extraction Questions

    Hi
I am setting up a workshop for the first time. I bought a Scheppach 2600 dust extractor/chip collector 2nd hand. I want to put in some fixed ducting. Problem is I want to run it up one wall, across some rafters and then down to my bandsaw. I suppose this involves about the ducting being about 8 to 9 feet above floor level. Would this kind of dust extractor be able to suction the waste that kind of height?
    Thanks
    Richard

    Hi Richard,

I have a 1hp dust extractor connected to my machines via 100mm duct across my 8 foot ceiling. At each machine I have a gate as my extractor can only support one 4 inch dust extraction port. It works well even ingesting a small timber off cut from my table saw which damaged the fan blades. I’ve now added a container inline to catch large chips and save the fan.

    Regards

Do a search on "Dust Collection" and "Cyclones" on the forum there is heaps of information as the subject has been extensively discussed.
