new ducting
I've just 'stumbled' across Peter's description of the extraction upgrade in my workshop. 4 weeks on, an I'm still in awe of what Pete has done for me! Every day I walk into my studio, and look at the artwork that Pete created in the machine shop, shake my head, and ask .....'why has it taken me 17 years to do this?'
I just need to say, Pete was a super help, and I would never had achieved this level of ducting without him.......everybody needs a Pocket Pete in their workshop.....or better still, a Pete app!
In all seriousness though, the ducting is working like a dream. Sure, it wasn't cheap, and maybe it could have been done just as effectively with pvc (but then I wouldn't have seen Pete's metalwork skills in action), but the value lies in the peace of mind that is a cleaner and healthier workshop. The machine shop actually looks bigger now that there aren't 5 and 6 metre runs of 100mm flex hose all over the floor. I can also now close the roller door so that the noise from the dusty isn't so bad. If anybody out there is thinking of doing it, and like me, holding off because ....'well maybe that machine needs to go there eventually', or 'I'll just put up with it for another year'....trust me...don't. Install the extraction and your woodworking life will improve beyond belief!
Cheers!
