Dust Extraction Woes
Hi WWF,
I thought i would share my dust extraction success story just in case it helps others if they have similar issues.
I have a Carbatec 2HP system with a pleated filter connect up to 8 machines using 4inch PVC pipe.
The suction over the last 6 months has been horrid, so much so that I was ready to set my dusty on fire and give up wood working. I was spending more time unblocking pipes and picking up dust then woodworking.
Over the weekend I pulled the pleated filter off, clean and vacuumed the caked dust from inside the filter and replaced the foam seal with a $5 jobbie from Bunnings. Result. Happy wood working days again.
I also ordered some self cleaning blast gates from Carbatec ($12 each) who managed to get them to me in 6 business hours. I fitted them tonight and OMG what a difference. Each change has result in a step change in performance.
Happy Days!
