I didn't have one of these generic sensor units, until today. Ordered 16th Dec, picked up at post office 23rd. Awesome!
The reason for my post - the current firmware must address the "bug" that you are seeing with your two different screens, as mine shows exactly the same PM2.5 count on both.

Mine has the same readings down low but they vary considerably up in the higher ranges . What sort of readings are you getting Poundy? No smoke haze here at the moment so my readings are low.

good point, it at the moment has only shown 9-17. I'll take it to Bathurst for Chrissy, and see what it shows there.

My wife had a friend come down last night from Bathurst. She reckons you can’t see from one side of the street to the other at times.
Hope you don’t miss it

It reckon the two sets of readings could be related to calibration of the Plantower detectors which these commercial te4ctors use.
The Plantower detectors provide two sets of digital outputs, one is a raw output and one is a calibrated output.
On the Plantower 7300 models detectors both these outputs are the same (ie uncalibrated and I had to use the dust detectors from my former place of employment to calibrate them and correct them in software. It turned out that these detectors the calibrated and uncalibrated outputs are very close especially at low concentrations.
I don't know about the Plantower 5300 detectors which is what the commercial detectors use.

This is an interesting article that may explain the differences between the two sets of readings - "standard" vs "atmospheric environment"🎈 Public Lab: How to interpret PMS5003 sensor values?
