Dusty Price
I have a Jet dusty and it is very good. The $100.00 is only the start . You will find as the end date comes closer the price will escalate quite rapidly. I suggest you get onto a site selling Jet such as http://gpwoodturning.yahoostore.com.au/ and compare the price.

Depending on the diameter of the hose, you could pay anything from $20 to $40 per metre. The dusty in question more than likely has an 80mm, 100mm or 120mm outlet. We sell these diameter hoses for $29, $35, and $40 per metre respectively. Shop around though.....

Stirlo,
this is my new dusty
http://www.timbecon.com.au/details/p...tor-13037.aspx
I got it for about $140 at the working with wood show. i got about 4m of flexible 100mm hose and two hoseclamps with it for an extra $30
http://www.timbecon.com.au/products/...ies-493_2.aspx
this dust extractor pulls 914cfm which is a lot more than the sherwood equivalent to your one on ebay which only pulls 600cfm. Im making a cyclone unit out of 2 x 200ltr drums costing $22 each and getting some downpipe to extend the system, will be cutting up the flexible hose for joints to the machines

I'm also looking into dust collectors at the moment. I have looked at Jet, but their DC1100 & 1900 only come with thin 30 micron bags. You can buy 5 micron cloth bags or 2 micron canisters, but this adds to the cost. At the moment I am thinking about a carbatec CT-002V, made in Taiwain dusty, 2 hp, 2000 cfm, dual bags with standard 5 microns bags.

New price for that model Jet Dusty is around $350. So around $100 is a reasonable used price. It's only a 650cfm model, so only 1 machine at a time.
You can buy a starter hose kit from Carbatec for around $80-90.Greg Lee

G'day Stirlo,
I know for a little bloke like yourself that the dollars aren't so easy to come by, but if you can, save a bit longer for a 2HP unit. Just an idea. but then maybe you will only need a 1HP Dusty to hook up to your lathe and nothing else.
