    Default Epoxy ceramic dust capture

SWMBO has started repairing ceramics following the folks on the "Repair Shop" TV program plus a bunch of things she's seen on youtube.

To keep her out of the shed I have suggested she undertake the repairs in her "craft room" (ie the lounge room)

After gluing pieces together the next step involves filling gaps using a clay/epoxy mix which when dry needs to be sanded.
She's doing this using a fine sanding disc on "Her Dremel" and I am quite impressed at how it's working out.
The amount of dust is very small but to prevent fine dust from spreading all over the house I have set her up with my soldering fume extractor.
You can just see the dust in this photo

    Here's a bit of a close up.

Even better, here is a short Vid

I've even set up a particle counter and so far we haven't seen anything above the usual background in the craft room which is nominally quite dusty because of all the fabrics she stores in there.

Nice catch. Does your fume extractor vent outdoors or just filtered air returned to the lounge?

It uses 2 small so called HEPA filters , same as used on our robot vac. I haven't done an exhaustive test but the air coming out the back is barely above the rooms background. One of the problems with testing in that room is that it is already quite dusty from all the fabrics stored there. To problem test the filter on the extractor I would need to do it somewhere like my shed which is not as dusty
