You got ripped off, I will supply these for a whole lot less, just check out the filtration numbers. If they are that much better I had better charge more!
Cartridge Filters
BTW from another of your posts it is not necessary to have three phase to run a 3kw/5hp motor and a 15"/16" impeller. VFD's have solved that and ClearVue units will run from a standard GPO though I recommend a dedicated 15 amp power supply to ensure there are no problems. The same motor can also be run from 415V three phase if you wish with or without a VFD. The reason for the VFD is as much to run from the SP supply as to get the motor speed back to 3450 rpm. This point is mostly missed in Australia, our single phase generic Aisan DE's all run at 2850 instead of the 3450 in the US with a commensurate loss of flow. I think any numbers they quote for these units are quoted at 3450 not 2800.
BTW I have the filters in stock if you want a set.CHRIS

Of course you can by cheap chinese pleated cartridge filters for arround the $150 to $200, but they are smaller ( usually 2/3 as tall) and far less durable than the industrial units for $600 to $800.
The micron rating of the chepaer units is also...how shall I say this....less reliable.
As for running a 5hp motor on domestic single phase supply....I do not think so....unless you are rating your motor on input, not output......not going to happen....BTW even if you do rate a 5hp motor on input it will be a 3725 watt motor and will draw more than a theoretical 15 amps.
So ya 3000 watt motor is 4 horsepower input and 2.5 output, 3 horespower output at best.
Generally induction motors are rated on output not input
The "3HP" motor in my saw bench draws 17 amps free running and about 26amps when I stuff a piece of 90mm KD hardwood into a fine blade. I run it on a 20 amp curcuit. which is as big as single phase comes without hard wiring.
OK I will admit that the motor in my saw bench is generously sized. BUT Most saw benches and most worshop machines with a 3hp rated induction motor come with a 15 amp plug fitted
So this dust extraction unit with the "5hp" motor on it, does it flow 3000pluss CFM........thaught not.
A 5 HP dust extractor ( with a blower that does 5Hp of blowing)requires a 3 phase connection.

Most powertools have sharp teeth.
People are made of meat.
Abrasives can be just as dangerous as a blade.....and 10 times more painfull.

It looks nothing like a "clear vue cv06", nor does it look like an " Oneida Dust Deputy" or the plastic cyclone seperator I can buy at the local cleaning supplies.
He has used a slightly different cyclonic principle and the seperator is scaled differently
I could certainly find easier wasy of making what he has........but he has done it because he can.
