Default Fair deal on 3HP DC

Old style 3HP 3Phase DC with 6" impeller inlet going for a fair price.

Same unit new at at H&F is about 2.5 times the price
Pair it with a 240V 3 phase VFD and you have a half decent machine

    Default Theres 3 of them!

There's 3 of them there available at that price Bob!.
They are only half what I paid for mine ($600) admittedly mine has 8 inch inlet (and unused / new) and sell retail around the $1200.
Look like bargains if someone was thinking about a ducted system... in a shed outside!.
Be surprised if blokes aren't all over those like white on rice!
    Well spotted!.

Do you think those inlets could be opened up to 8 inch dia? (To mount on top of a Bill Pense Cyclone maybe)?
I wonder what impeller dia?, (Must be a specification link somewhere on line).
Maybe not 14 inch... but a VFD wound up to full...might gain 20%....

I don't think the standard 3HP DCs/impellers @50Hz can generate enough pressure to really take advantage of 8" ducting. Maybe at 60Hz that is possible.

These machines look like very good buying providing they have 13" or 14" impellers. I reckon these would be great for a small shed cyclone project. Opening up the inlet to 200mm would definitely be the way to go with this. On my DIY cyclone project I opened up my 2 HP fan to this size and it was definitely worthwhile.
