Flexi recommendations
Simple question...is there a specific 6" flexi hose that's the bee's knees?
Of what I've found so far, that I like, there's Carbatech's stuff which looks pretty bumpy.
Then Major Woodworking has this gear which looks a bit smoother on the inside and is a touch cheaper to boot.
I'm planning to run a minimal length from the PVC ducting, with a smooth curve, to the cyclone's inlet to make it easier to cover the height difference, and a short run from the table saw to the duct because it's on wheels and usually gets wiggled around a bit while I'm working so I need a little movement in the hose.
I've been fiddling around with a PVC connection and pipe to the inlet, but thinking I'd rather use quick release clamps on a little flexi hose at the inlet, so in case of an emergency, I can whip the cyclone off the ducting quickly.

I've looked at the carbatech stuff in their perth shop and it looks more like the Major Wooding flexy than what is on the carbatech site.
. . . . so in case of an emergency, I can whip the cyclone off the ducting quickly

One involving reproductive organs 8' above the ground knowing my luck
Nah, it's only a "just in case" precaution in case I do a pjt. I've had a bit more of a look around and found worm screw clamps with a thumb key for tightening which will do just fine. I just wanted something that I could undo without having to hunt for the right tool first.
So without easy access to the Melbourne Carbatec store to be sure of the stock, it'd be safer just to get it from Major? They don't have the clamps I want though which is a bugger and the shipping is a touch more, but rather than get the wrong gear...
Edit: Actually, I should call Carbatec and ask. Duh.

I emailed Carba-tec and their response was that what was pictured on the site is what I'd get. Last night I remembered that there's one shop here that sells flexi so I'll go in for a peek at it, but otherwise try what Major had.
BobL: Was what you saw in the shop maybe the 4" Super Flex? That looks a bit like Major's gear, and would be nice to have, but it only comes in 4"

Yeah that could be it.
It's a pity you weren't closer I would have let you have a metre or so of my 6 m long piece of 6" I picked up out of the classifieds for just $50. It is corrugated but used in short lengths it's OK.
Mini was selling some 6" stuff a while back so like PJT says maybe contact him.
