I could be wrong but i remember reading that the clear stuff can degrade a bit quicker if its constantly exposed to direct sun light. That or it was thinner and just purely wore out quicker.
I have the 6" grey stuff from carb a tec. Theres nothing wrong with it but its probably not as "flexible" or bendy as say compared to the plastic ribbed shop vac hose.

I have bought different hoses from a number of suppliers.
i have grey hose in 125mm and 50mm I bought from Timbercon. Reasonably flexible so used in preset positions that don’t require a lot of movement/ relocation.
First 160mm flexible hose I bought was Master-PVC bought from a place in Melbourne. Thick walled not very flexible. It may have changed it’s name?
This site looks familiar and has a good range with prices
Flexible Ducting | Flexible Dust Hose | Airtight Solutions
Latest hoses are from Esimo/speedlock
Eximo speedLOCK - Modular and Flexible Ducting Australia - Flexible hose
I have purchased their Polyflex and Polyflex light. The Polyflex light is extremely flexible, clear and the wall thickness is similar to the Grey Timbercon hose I have.
i love the Polyflex light
Couple of pictures showing the grey hoses and Polyflex light

If you're using the fittings that have the spiral ridge to screw into the flexi hose, make sure the fittings have the same "hand" spiral as the hose. I bought some 150mm hose from Gasweld when I got my DC from them & the spiral was opposite to the fittings I got from Timbecon.

Hi Lappa,
What size PolyFlex Light did you get to fit with your 150 PVC pipe? I see they sell a 152 and a 160mm. The 160 would nicely fit over the 150mm PVC pipe, wouldn't it? Whereas the 152mm would struggle to get over the 150 PVC pipe but would likely fit inside a bell fitting/female end of a fitting, correct?
Cheers,
TT

I bought 160mm. Easy but snug fit over 150mm pipe. I know there are other ways of attaching 150mm flex to 150mm pvc pipe but I found the 160mm the easiest as I don’t have a lathe.
A warning though when calculating length. Most companies stretch the pipe to the max when measuring length so what you receive in the “relaxed” state is a lot shorter - on the Polyflex light about 1/3rd.

Okay, I'm getting there. I have almost all of my 150 Stormwater PVC in place. For the machines that can use 150 flex, I'm ordering some. However, I have some machines that use the 4" flex hose. My bandsaw and my table saw both are fixed with 4" connections and I don't think I can change that. So, where necessary, I have a 150 to 100 reducer and need to connect flex hose to the reducer and machine. Here is the problem. Standard 100 DWV is 110mm outer diameter and a 4" flex hose (102mm) can't go over 100 DWV. If I get wider hose ie 115mm, it might work for the 100DWV but will be far too big for the machine's 4" port. So, how do you guys go from 100 DWV down to 4"?

Unless you get teh 160mm flex, is better if you can avoid putting the hose over anything to connect as this makes the air path narrower.
If you have a lathe you can do this but I usually only do it if I want an easy connect and disconnect - its a firm push fit onto DV 4" ducting.
The grey thing is called a threaded coupler.
Th benefit is the 4" flex will fit inside teh couple and is very firmly held on
Here is a cross section t show what is going on.

A really neat way to connect is is using 3D printed magnetic flanges but I guess a3D printers are still probably rarer than lathes in this community
See Magnetic Dust Port Connectors.
