Hi Flintlock, I haven’t set up my dust extraction yet, I am just about finished with the shed outside to hold the dust extractor and compressor, then I will work on plumbing it up, sadly work gets in the way of my hobbies.

    Cheers
    Andrew

I have been making some progress with my DE setup, I still have to get some gates and install those, and am waiting on some more fittings

150mm intake to my table saw with bell mouth

    Ducting up to ceiling space

The intake pipe comes in from the dust extractor enclosure outside and heads up the wall, I have remote mounted the no volt switch on the wall

150mm and bell mouth into the jointer

Many thanks to Flintlock for making the Bell mouths, and everyone else who has posted in the dust forum, great inspiration.

    Cheers
    Andrew

Bit of a mission, but I cut out the original port and fitted a bell mouth to the bottom cabinet of the bandsaw

I knocked up a 3 port manifold for the bandsaw the other night, 150mm with 3x 100mm ports, I will put a 150mm blast gate at the start of it

Yeah, the holesaw didn’t pan out, so I ended up just cutting them out with the jigsaw, and then opening them up with the spindle sander

I just use a standard parting blade on the lathe and for the chuck to better grip the cap I insert a piece of MDF that fits neatly inside the cap.

That looks like an easy way to do it, if you have a lathe, it’s about the only thing I’m missing in my workshop, I should have my first shipment of blast gates in the next couple of weeks, thanks to Alan and Chris

The cold might have numbed my brain. The photo looks like cutting a hole with a dremel mounted on the lathe saddle. Is the parting tool version a different photo? Cheers.

There was no photo with Bobl's reply about parting off blade.

Bobl, I tried the parting off blade but without the mdf inside and managed to launch the cap across my workshop.
