Yep. The welded truss is in the way.

Outside cyclone costs more time and money, ducting will be longer but thats a good option i am thinking of. Edit: I don't wanna go outside in winter rain to empty the bin

Oh I understand. Wouldn't want the man of sugar to melt would we. Making a dust collection system is never easy. One argument in favour for outside is should you ever decide to upgrade to a bigger impeller and motor you can pre-build more room above the cyclone to fit it whereas inside the shop you still have the headroom issue.

Props to you for making your own cyclone.

It's funny that the bigger motor/impeller the smaller cyclone according to Bill Pentz excel spreadsheet.

If i ever want to upgrade i have to make new cyclone to suit. And yep making Bill Pentz cyclone is not that intimidating after done one

Another option for the BP design is a roof based conning tower!

The lazyness in me told me not to do hence 4hp cyclone size was made

The 2 bends vertical muffler me like alot after inspecting the wall above the intended hole there are cracks on the mortar. I decided to remove top wall bricks (3 of them) and still using the 2 bends for out and down.........

Ok here we go again but you're warned that I would never be done with this project bcos I can't make up my mind where to position my machines

Here is the box from the dust extractor to the wall, i made out of scraps.

This is how I hang the box lol, it seems to be ok with the strap.

I had to leave the spleepers idea cos i would have a hard time to seal the bend n buckle sleepers.
    The mdf was used instead.

I recycled my mattress for sound proof.

Then I wrapped it up with galvanized sheet (same material as the cyclone).
    It's quicker than painting.

I use a plastic bin to keep the fresh plastic bag down to the drum.

I am using duct tape to cornect the drum to the cyclone for good seal and quick to do.

Do you have pleated filter or bags? Just curious whether the wok would work with bags as most seem to have them with the pleated filter cartridges. Thanks.

I withdrew that statement later in the thread, neither of my DC's have a wok (misunderstanding on my part). One of my DC's has bags and the other has pleated filters. Sorry I didn't see this earlier, I was away and no mobile coverage.
