Does anyone have any thought on how to add an extra hose to one of these, so that the exhaust can go outside? Got one for my birthday after a few strong hints. First time a bloke's been happy to gat a vacuum cleaner for a birthday I reckon.
Thanks
PeterThe other day I described to my daughter how to find something in the garage by saying "It's right near my big saw". A few minutes later she came back to ask: "Do you mean the black one, the green one, or the blue one?".

Peter, I've been playing with one of these vacuums adding a few bits. See this thread
I haven't found anything that matches the thread on the supplied hose connector. But a male 2 1/4" fitting push fits into the inside of the connector.
If anybody finds a cap that fits the thread I would be interested to know.
Cheers,
Fuzzie

Arlec wet & dry
Calls itself a wet & dry.It couldn't cope with a bit of water. hang on! that was the 750 mms of water that went through my shed, wasn't it ?
Seriously though, I would buy another if I could find one for that price up this way.
Mine was $130 at Kmart on special about 18months ago.

I have been asked to insert this.
Hi
I have just been reading all of your comments on the forum.
Just because we use a courier it doesnt mean it willnecessarily get delivered overnight.
I you want to post the following as part of one of your post.
" We are the supplier of the said dust extraction unit and we have read trough all of your comments. The unit has a 10A plug and a 10A outlet socket. Given this the total power through the unit cannot exceed 2400W. With the vacuum rated at 1000W there is "spare wattage" and this should cover the majority of tools. Of course we recognise that some routers and saws may draw over 2000W so there is a risk that if you use a tool with this power when the Vacuum and tool are started together they may trip a switch.
We keep spares for the unit which we sell at a very realistic price.
Delivery for the unit will be via Startrack Express. We generally offer a delivery window of 7 days as stock is held in a remote warehouse.
Please feel free to ask me questions through ebay and happy to help in anyway."

Shop Vac Tip
When using my Aldi shop vac with routers and sanders I have noticed the fiilter clogs up very quickly.
Today in Bunnies I bought a $16.98 bag of 5 Shop-Vac Pro 40/45 filter bags. These bags fit the entry tube perfectly and surround the filter, catching all the debris. I routed and sanded for three hours on and off and the filter is still clear.

Dearest Groggy,
Any chance of a Fota of one installed?
Best Wishes to you Champion,
Batpig.
P.S. I've been grinding and vacuuming up cement dust all day (with quite a few filter cleanings), so I know where you're coming from...

Pics for Batpig
Here ya go, note that the dust on the filter was there from previous use. I can't tell if there is any new stuff there but I reckon not. This has been routing, cleaned the shop, did some sanding, cleaned the dog and could still suck a golf ball through a garden hose
I've included a pic of a hose mod. I had some velcro cable ties and used them to get the Festool power cord under control.
EDIT: I had the wrong price down, they were $16.98, not $25, so about $3.40ea

Dear Groggy,
Thanks very much for the photos. Interesting the way they wrap right around the filter to the back, but they look like they'll do the job alright...
I wish you had been one day earlier with the original post...
Good One

Another little tip for those with festool sanders that have bought this vac. The rubber reducer that comes with the vac will fit a over a festool sander dust outlet perfectly if you cut the last reducing step off. Now if you have tools with a really small outlet you probably shouldn't do this but I don't so it suits my purposes. It is a hell lot cheaper than buying the festool vac adaptor .

Good tip Marios, and I would suggest that if they do cut the end off then they tape it in place to stop it sliding off in use. (I tried it for a while then went back to the Festool fitting because it grips the tool better and doesn't slip off.)

Hey Groggy,
I am not sure whether my fitting is different to the one you got but it is a very snug fit, it does not budge once pushed onto the sander..
I will take a photo when I am next in the shed.

Mine arrived today.
I sure beats the old vacuum cleaner.
I like it starting with the sander and the delayed stop.
Now to make a new set of fitting for everything.Scally
