    Default Help measuring flex hose

Is there a rule of thumb measuring flex hose? I need some 162mm hose in this location how long should I ask for? I know they measure stretched - 350mm long enough??

Not sure if you can read the tape but it's 235mm between the middle of the two

You probably cannot buy any less than a metre?

Might measure some for another machine

Is there a rule of thumb how much a hose stretches for estimate how much I need?

I’d be guessing that you would need to measure the longest points and add a bit to that

My very flex hose would stretch from 1 metre, in relaxed state ( just sitting on the ground), to near on 1.3m

Most places wont sell it stretched.

It will probably come in a 6 - 10m roll. They will just measure you out a meter and cut off slightly extra. As for measuring for a specific bend. Roughly eye ball it with he hose and just keep trimming it down toll it fits

Probably a little barbaric but I would put a sheet of cardboard or plywood behind those fittings and sketch in where I think the hose will go. Measure the outside line and add a little extra and give it a shot.

    barbaric ????

It's how I'd do it. Though I'd probably use a scrap of paper to sketch the template

Another way I have done this is to use a length of hose or wire bent into the approximate shape.
