I am not sure whether the price is steep or not. I haven't got one, but then if I had troubles with my DC clogging up or filling up too soon, I might consider it.

The Triton dust collectors should be available in the not too distant future from Carbatec.

A few on the forum have made quite impressive home made units.

Each to their own I suppose.

    G'day YeahNah,
Please don't take me wrong, I believe the principle is great as I worked in the oil industry and heavely involved with hydrocyclones for oil/water separation and all made localy in OZ. But to pay $189 plus postage from the U.S is the point that I'm raising (my opinion). I firmly believe that ther are similar products made here that we can adapt to our use.
I know while I was in the oil industry that everything was made from the highest grade stainless steel (very expensive), but if anyone manufactures the cyclone in plastic localy then we can adapt them for our use with any buckets.
I'm chasing down could be suppliers of cyclones and report back.
    Best Regards
    Jack

    G'day All,
Couldn't find a local manufacturer that produces plastic cyclones, only in stainless steel that are to big and heavy for our use. Just wondering if anyone else has had any luck? or is anybody else still searching?
    Regards
    Jack

The Oneida is now online and available. I can't seem to find the triton dust bucket at Carbatec yet, it must still be coming "soon". Not sure of the shipping costs, but $189.00 is cheaper than importing it yourself. Not 100% convinced I'd buy one, but could be handy when used with a sander or similar.

    Hi Folks,
I hate to raise an old issue but I have been reading everything I can get my hands on regarding dust extractors. I know that there has been some interest in the past about ordering Clear Vue cyclones. I am very keen to do this but was wondering if others have actually done this. I would be most interested to hear any thoughts based on the experience. I have written to Ed Morgano at Clear Vue and he said he would ship a cyclone (without motor) for normal cost plus $1000US shipping.

Can anyone tell me if I should consider ordering a motor from him as well. (I will have a 3 phase supply shortly) or is the 60/50hz difference too great an issue? The shipping cost is high but it should still come in under the Carbatech machine at $2900 and my understanding is that it should be a cleaner and more powerful unit.

Thanks for the reply. I had read all that but am wondering whether or not anyone had actually done it. Especially recently.
