Quite a good idea for someone that already has a room air filter, but for someone deciding to start from scratch, for around the same price of a CT 1700 CFM filter ($1000) and a Wynnes nano filter ($460) I think you could purchase a hospital grade HEPA room air filter that would do a better job and not take up anywhere near as much room.

By the way there is no way the CT filter moves 1700 cfm. The motor is only 1/3 HP so this figure will be for the fan performance with no filters, As soon as the filters are added and of course eventually block up the flow will drop dramatically. The sort of performance that happens in practice is like most other DCs i.e. around half the claimed figure.

building your own shop-made Room Air Filter system, so it'll be interesting to see what he comes up with in the way of filters, and how he goes about moving sufficient air volume to do any good.
