Inexpensive and effective dust removal
While cutting some sheets of MDF with a hand-held circular saw, I used the following method to remove the dust.
1. Open a window on one side of the shed and the door on the other side.
2. Install a fan about two metres from the door blowing the air out the door.
These fans move a huge volume of air per second. While cutting I could see the dust moving towards the fan and being blown out the door. Within a few tens of seconds after finishing a cut I could see no more airborne dust in the sunbeams.
Those of us with above ground sheds have an opportunity here. Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.

Yep, it's a good idea Zen, one of the reasons why it was actually good doing all the sanding out side in the patio area on windy days
cheers

A bit naughty Zenwood, sort of NIMBY...the neighbours instead!!
One of the features of a cyclone, dust extractor etc, is the filtering to remove the nasties before they affect other people!Andy Mac

Loverly curtains Zen ...bit of a code violation methinks eh
Fans? mmmm I normally just open the two roller doors and any breeze rushes the dust right out one or the other door easy as... but a fan would be good... but then so would a cyclone
Nice tip mate have a greenie... but get rid of the flouncy curtains yer big woosBelieve me there IS life beyond marriage!!! Relax breathe and smile learn to laugh again from the heart so it reaches the eyes!!

Just be careful of dust build up in the motor housing and very fne dust particles suspended in the air being dragged through an ignition source may not be advisable (the concentration levels are probably not high enough to be a problem), Possibly use your fan to create a slight over pressure in your work area and it should have the same result without the safety concerns.
