Default On-line sourcing of suitable bin bags?

So, my last DC bin bag has finally bitten the dust. Or should that be "been bitten by the dust"?

Anyways, I dropped in to where I bought the last batch (quite a few years ago) and they don't stock 'em anymore. So detoured around all the usual suspects... the Green Borg, etc. and didn't fare any better.

They sell bags that are the right size, but are way too flimsy to last more than an hour or two with the klutz working around here.

A quick search on-line shows quite a surprising range in price, which also suggests a large spread in quality.

So... any recommendations for good bags that are fairly priced?

Hare and Forbes sell a wide range of bags but I haven't bought any from them for myself.
A few years back we bought a pack for the mens shed. I see they are now $45 for a 10 pack, I guess I would class them as "OK"

At work we used to go through a lot of plastic bags and some were as large as king size mattress bags and some we even had custom made.
They were very cheap, DC size bags were <$1ea but you had to buy them in a roll of about 100 bags.

The bags on my DC are larger/thicker (160 microns) than usual and the only supplier I have found for then are Carbatech and they charge $74 for 10.
They are tough enough to last for multiple uses.

One of my Italian Uncles worked in a plastic bag factory where they made a wide range of sizes up to mattress size bags. The process was fascinating to see.
Many lg Bags of raw plastic bead stock had to be continually tipped into a large (200l) melt pot. The hot plastic was then squeezed into the shape of a large thin tube through large round dies and pulled upwards rapidly cooled by air. As the tube was pulled upward and solidified by the air, when it had cooled enough it was sealed across its width and perforated so it could be torn off at the perforations. The string of still joined bags went up about 20 m and onto a continuous roll of bagsl. The process ran 24/7 until orders were filled.

    Thanks, Bob.

For all the coin I've spent at Carbatech over the years, they'd dropped off my list lately.

But it sounds like those are the ones I want... I don't mind paying extra for durability and 10 bags should keep the DC sated for a good few years.

I'll also try a lot from that H&F URL for use when someone asks for a bag full, as I rarely get those bags back.

I have just had this company pop up in my Facebook after reading your post yesterday. Strange how the internet works.
I have no idea about the company or quality of their products.

If I'm careful I get 3 or 4 uses from the H&F variety but would love to find something a bit tougher - let us know what you end up doing Skew!
