Hi inventor,
I had my "normal" sized cyclone rolled up by sheet metal guys last year,
they supplied 1.6 and 3 mm thick metal, rolled and bent all the pieces neccessary plus a few extra bits and design alterations of my own, cost about 1300 bux, there is a bit of work in them, the 3d cone is folded (not rolled) and is made as two halves

Extras were flanges for the top and btm of the cyclone section, (I like to be able to pull things apart if I need to) 2 flights (only need one) a longer rectangle section for the inlet into cyclone.

I welded the whole thing up and put it together, made my own fan (backward curved blade) with shroud and fan housing from 3mm thick, the motor 3 kw 3ph and flange mount was about 350 bux, thought I had to only buy a flange mount to suit the motor I already had but no flange mount made for that motor, oh well!

It took me a little while to weld it up, I only had an AC stick machine, a mig on the thin section is a lot quicker, approx a day/day and half to weld up by the sheeties, so my guess is it will cost up around 2 to 2.5k to have a sheetie supply make and weld a basic unit. A lot will depend on whether u have extras, the flight was a bit fiddly, the outside/inside diameters change as it is stretched to form the spiral, mine was cut too big so I had to do a lot of grinding and fitting.

I gotta say a big thank you to Bill Penze for doing all that he has done and making his information freely available for us woodies to make use of, he had some input on a different thread a little while back

I took some photos a while back, they will be posted shortly.

I will be making a mini cyclone (or 2) using a vacumm motor (or 2) (I try to get the busted but going wrecks at auction or tip shop for 5 bux) for things like the drop saw, belt sander, things that need a bit more suck but not much volume, I would like to design an arrangement using at least 2 vaccy motors, maybe mounted to a plenum box, then thru the mini cyclone then to the saw kinda thing, this will be a month or two away yet

Thanks for the info guys. It seems like not too many people have imported the Clear vue units? I am in the process of making 4 of the mini units ( out of sheet metal) almost finished, but am interested to know how much they would cost to have them made here. As I know of other people who don't have the ability to make their own but need them. I don't want to make any more. Guess I will have to get some quotes.

Strange about this as last year there was a post I think is was from the makers of these units in the USA who wanted to do a bulk shipment to Aus if there were the numbers to which I think there were quite a few takers. Seems like it all may have fell through.

Why import them as for a few dollars you can make a mini cyclone yourself without needing to be able to do any metal work if you make them using my system.

Although I used a Triton dust bucket as the main part others have used empty paint drums for both parts, do a search for these posts.

Thanks for the links and info. The reason I want to use the particular design is that it suits larger ' industrial' vacuum units. eg: with large hose and 2 or 3 motors ( eg: lots of suction) and less likely to clog with wood chips/shavings due to larger internal pipe sizes.
