Mitre saw - own dust collector Port or own shop vac?
I've got a bosch saw with horrible collection, the actual collection will end up being made the same basically but don't know what system to use. The saw will never move and will be built in. I have a 4hp felder dust collector or a old second hand rupes vac to choose from which would be dedicated and live underneath. Which way do people go, vac or hvlp......

What sort of saw?
the 4HP DC should be the go
BUT
You will need 6" ducting all the way between the saw and the DC - while you are at it do all your other machines in 6" as well.
If it's a SCMS it will need a dedicated surrounding cabinet - look around on the dust forum for ideas.

It's a bosch scms, they are pretty much the last in YouTube tests. I've just looked through previous posts about how to do it, I'm using 150mm dwv pipe, so think I'll drop a dedicated line straight to a cabinet behind the saw, I will use under and behind the wood being sawn zero clearances so not sure what will happen...... I'm literally doing the spending, and installation to my combination machine, bandsaw and scms this week starting tomorrow.

Bosch GCM 12 GDL, not the glide, it's the one with the pivoting elbow.
