Poor Second or viable alternate
I have a H&F DC3 in the far corner of the new shed. The original idea was for me to build an additional shed behind the new one for the DC and compressor . . . but some person hurt his shoulder at work last year, so those plans were put on hold. Would a pleated filter (FC-10)be a poor second or a viable alternate?
I know I wont get rid of the noise or all of the dust, but it would remove more of the dust. I'm also thinking of getting an air filtration unit.
Either AP-12 or MC 420.
Yes Ray, more annoying news about my shoulder, another MRI has been ordered and the specialist appointment brought forward by a month
So am I on the right track or talking out the side of my mouth like a politician?Pat

Pat I'd go with the MC420 this way when you can not turn anymore I'll end up with a decent dust removal system. When you buy it please factor in a removal and refit price
As for the shoulder ouch, Nz has a spare mini for pen turning.

I can still turn, bit constructing a small shed in tight confines is beyond what my shoulder would allow me.Pat

I bought a 2 micron DC3 filter bag from H&F about 12 months ago. It was not in their catalogue, the only way we knew was a small label in the plastic bag it came in and the salesman knew nothing about it.
At the moment I am using a DC60 with a 2 micron bag and a Jet air filtration unit, my shed is well ventilated with a whirly thingy in the roof and has been no dust building up on anything.

Pat, the primary aim for any DE should be to stop the dust getting into the air but you will never achieve that totally. The air scrubbing filters should only have a very small job to do because in a perfect situation we should not need to use them at all, totally dreamland stuff of course as there will always be some dust for them to capture.
