Default Powertran VFD ok with no load?

I'm in the process of setting up my new Clearvue cyclone and want to check the VFD program settings before the final connection and test run (cause its much easier on my bench than on the wall in a squishy dust extractor room).

Is it ok to turn on and look at the program for the VFD with no motor load attached (VFD is a 4kW Powertran PI1500 004GI)? I don't want to pop something before I get to start it up...

    Cheers

    Mike

Yes it is fine. Play with it as much as you want but be aware that the terminals will be live. Unplug it and wait for the screen to go dark before touching any terminals.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

From memory if there is no motor connected and you accidentally push "run" either nothing will happen or it will report an error and you mu have to press "stop/reset" to clear the error. This does not cause any problems for the VFD.
