    Hi All been keeping my eye out for a suitable remote switch for my dusty (240v 4hp) came across this, can anyone tell me if it will work in Australia? seems up to the task...

    I am on a mission to show that using low voltage control is the answer for DE control. Run the low voltage wires through the ducts and either surface mount the switches for the LV side of things on the ducts where it joins the machine or use overhead light switches operated by hanging cords.

    I know nothing of the unit other than the information provided, but based on that it seems to be viable for Australian use on single phase dusties to 3HP.

    The unit is designed as a change over replacement of the standard equipment motor control gear installed on the machine. It is rated 230V 19A and includes overcurrent protection, the remote reciever is integrated into the sealed case, reducing the chance of dust entering the unit or mains voltage escaping (compared to modifying a control unit to incorporate externally controlled hard wired switching).

    However, I suspect that a 4 HP single phase dusty would be beyond it's capacity, if only by a small margin.
