Hi Barri,
Not sure if you have already done something about it, but my friend has the same Laguna table saw and he discovered that it has a very restricted under-table dust port. I haven't seen it but he says it has a less than 2" throat inside the machine. Maybe something to look into.
As for overhead collection, I bought some acrylic and a few bits of aluminium and made this (old photo before I hooked it up and put a front rubber lip on it);

It works very well and is easily moved up / down. However I am yet to make/use sleds and can't see it being super effective in that scenario. I'll probably just build dust collection ports & shields into each sled and connect an overhead hose.

Dom, I have found out there are differences between models. The old model has a 1" pipe which has to be removed as well as the shroud to be more efficient but the newer model, like mine, has a better arrangement. I've tested with and without and there is a big difference in dust collection below the table. Not saying that its perfect and there are mods I can do, but for now its doing a good job.
Love you guard. Certainly more professional than mine. That's a brilliant idea about individualising each sled for a dust port. As mentioned above I've ordered some of these ( 4" FlexForm™ Dust Collection Hose - Rockler Woodworking Tools ) and that, or some spare normal hose with some shields might do the trick.

I built my own dust collector and it works very well. Bought the plans from Matthias Wandel found on YouTube. I used a swimming pool pump motor. The unit isn't large, and you may be able to modify the configuration to make it even smaller. It's definitely worth a look before you go out and spend big bucks!

If you ever happen to look inside your table saw cabinet again and are able to take a pic of the new arrangement I'd be grateful. My friend must have the old setup as he says it's got a tiny hose attached to a shroud and it would be interesting to see what Laguna have done to improve it (so that maybe we can do something similar). Although, as I found with my saw, especially if using zero-clearance inserts and depending on the type of cut, a lot of the dust comes out of the top, regardless of the amount of in-cabinet airflow; hence the overhead guard (virtually zero visible dust with this setup). So like yourself and I, he'll need to make an overhead guard of some sort as well.

It has a 3" hose direct to the shroud. I know the old model had a 1" hose connected to something else before the shroud. I know another forum user who had the old model took off the 1" hose and the shroud and sealed whatever hole was left with aluminium or something. He found this acceptable. He advised that I leave mine as is and I have noticed that I don't have to vacuum inside the cabinet as often.

Thanks for that. Pretty sure my mate said it looked more like a 1" on his so he definitely must have the old model.
