Default Repurposing hi bay shades as lathe hoods

Tried to sell these, no takers so decided to use them to suck the fine dust when sanding on the lathe.
I had thoughts of turning up a segmented ring and bashing it into that but thought I just try a bit of pipe first and some soft hammers.
Made some progress so put it in the Ewheel.
I’ve put some photos below whose order etc is out of my control😳
I can’t get at my smaller rad bottom wheels atm ‘cause of ply etc leaning on their cabinet but this one has started to form the desired edge rad ok.E6BD0E45-6AD4-4CE5-9B4E-FE04BFB11344.jpg687CB31D-80D8-4C2A-AE6E-A95072B3C5A5.jpg4DED879D-1D55-4B10-AAD3-A074F51060D3.jpg811C68A8-012F-4A9F-A33B-B0331A621284.jpg002D9EC5-D191-4E87-91B1-36B0E56705A5.jpg7B195B8D-0A00-422B-9038-2DB522DAD1D7.jpg

Here it is ready to suck.
The Dusty is just a blower mounted about 3 metres up wot blows straight outside.
I had a handbashed earlier version and although it wouldn’t suck chips is would pull 90% of and sanding dust.
New right angle banjo in 1” plate on the RS for getting at the back of stuff in the gap.
Change Lever knob removed to give clearance for gouge handles.

not a bad idea considering the big push to go LED rather then the typical high bay.

beats just turfing them I suppose
