Why not just use 150mm?

inlet to my DC is 125mm and outlet from my table saw is 120mm so wanted to keep it all the same diameter to avoid lots of adaptors but 150mm may be a good fallback option

What sort of DC is it?
What size is the impeller?
Some photos of the existing inlet would be useful

Chances are the 125mm impeller port can easily be opened up to 6" which together with the use of 6" ducting will generate more air flow.

Depending on the DC, 120 mm ports will lonely enable about 700 CFM ion air flow, 150 mm ducting will get up top 1250 CFM

Have a look in the "how to modify the generic 2HP DC" sticky at the top of the dust forum to see how easy it is to modify the impeller. I used a piece of sheet metal but MDF works equally as well.

The port diameter on the saw can be left as is and make up a 125 to 150mm diameter adapter - and a Y fitting used to collect simultateously from the OH saw blade guard collection.

You might as well do this now and then you will have room for expansion later - if not you will need to do this agin later.

125mm pipe of any description basically does not exist in Australia and seems to be a European standard for machine exhaust ports. Some European table saws have a 125mm external port on the outside and all the interior ducting connected to the same port is 100mm which makes a nonsense of the 125mm external size. Felder do this on their sliders and a lot of owners do not realize it.

one option is find someone getting ride of their old oil heater. the outer tube of the flue was often 5" and very long lengths of galv. with the flue being 4". hope this helps.

'speed lock' ducting is available in 125mm, but might be a bit $$$ , unless you can find second hand etc.

It can be custom made but the OP specified affordable in his request.

Not of practical use here, but it's interesting...Magellan, an importer in Auckland, were selling "125mm" PVC until recently out of stock.

can always just build some square ducting out of ply or MDF. A 2.4m sheet of MDF should net you about 4.8M of ducting equal to 125mm.
