    Default shifting mutta mutta mutta

So our landlords have been amazingly good to us, they live in the fully decked out shed behind the house we rent, we get on very well. But with their kids producing grandkids and living away from Lincoln, P & J want their home back... appears at this stage we will be swapping on a temp basis only, we move into shed and they move into the house, but my 7m x 7m workshop has to move.

We have secured a shed 6mx9m, access door at front of 6m side and 4m sliding door across the front.

Dust collection, the shed landlord is another great guy, we rented another shed from him years ago, but he a little dubious about punching holes in shed walls.Ive never had to 'collect' dust n shaving before, usually decorated the odd sheep or the scrub.
    Drawing of shed.
Option 1 build an outside dust system beside access door, and use bags and paper filter (there is one still in its box unused)
Option 2 build inside in front left corner and as above, does anything need to be 'exhausted' outside.

Just been browsing 'Syickys' and I think I have a whole lot of reading to do, but your thoughts please

    Tony

Putting DE outside or at least exhausting outside is ideal, but not always possible.

Mine is fully inside and exhausts through an efficient cyclone and filter system. I went that way because it gets chilly up here in the hills during winter and exhausting outside would draw cold air inside the workshop.

If you go with fully inside DE setup get yourself a particle counter to monitor inside dust levels.

Does the new shed also have windows and where are they located? Cross ventilation in addition to a DE that is fully inside is also a good way to go in a milder climate, although you would get more hot days than we get up here.

Is the reason the shed landlord doesn't want you knocking holes in the walls of his shed because replacing any sheets later wouldn't colour match. If that is the reason, one thought that might seem left field is what about venting through the roof on the side of the roof that won't be readily seen? Venting through the roof also has some other advantages.

no windows, 1 4x 2.5m sliding door and 1 access door.
replacing 1 sheet of iron is not happening, old style build a shed then lay cement down both sides, drr

so appears that an inside setupis the way, unless installing my 2HP dusty with fluted filter and collection bag on a mobile trilley with 2m of 150 flexi hose. That way I could roll the dusty outside.

I can see BobL now grinding his teeth in anguish at that anount of flexi

Is it possible to go through the roof, Tony?

Or maybe your shed landlord might like a window?

    Or wait for Bob!

I know a guy who built a Pentz cyclone and vents it out a window. The partially open window has a board with an exhaust hole. The exhaust from the cyclone goes to large diameter HVAC flex and then out the exhaust hole. You might be able to rig up something similar with the sliding door.
