Default Small shop vac/dust extractor recommendations

I've got a small inner city garage I use as a workshop for my DIY projects and have been using a cheapo 10L shop vac as a dust extractor on my table saw and sander but it's just not up to the task. I just tinker on my own projects and only use the table saw once every couple of months so I'm not regularly exposing myself to the find dust particles that cause health problems although I've got a big garage door I open to try vent the fine particles. The main job I want to do here is collect the bigger stuff which would otherwise cover the shed in sawdust.

Can you recommend a replacement? I'm flexible on budget but don't need the most expensive thing on the market. It needs to be something I can stuff away in a cupboard when not in use, my workshop is small and I don't have much space. Dust extraction is the priority but I want to be able to vac up crap off the shed floor with it too. Doesn't need to be wet vac.

I have a Makita vc4210m. No complaints. Much better filtration than my old ryobi unit from bunnings as you'd expect. They make a smaller version that might be better suited to your space.

I chose the Bosch system. GAS 35L L-class. I’ve been using it a lot for about 18 months, and I think it’s a great setup. Come up on sale from time to time. I think I paid ~$700.

I’m in the Bosch system, with sander, jigsaw, plunge router, and I’ve found it to be excellent. Mostly plug and play, great extraction, you can upgrade to M-class hepa filters if you like. I use the fleece bags, which are cost a bit, but work terrific, and very easy and clean to change over. I also use it as a floor vac.

Not sure it’d do much for a table saw. I’ve got a cabinet saw with 3hp dust collector and 6 inch pipes. I wouldn’t run big machines without it. However, I’d it’s a small contractor saw that’s used infrequently, you’ll be able to catch some of the chips/dust by connecting an extractor to an enclosed blade guard.
