slow motor start
My dust extractor motor used to be at full speed about 3 seconds after hitting the start button, it is now taking 15 seconds with a very slow wind up. When it is running, it behaves normally. Is there a starting aid that has failed, if so can it be fixed or can the motor be left with the slow start up.
thanks

It sounds like you need a capacitor replacement.

I needed to change one of mine, got a new cap from Capacitor Technologies (CapTech) || Power Factor Correction || Capacitor Supplier
Cost all of 18 bucks.
If your confident, take the old one out and put in a new one.
There is no polarity on the start caps so it doesn't matter which way you put the 2 wire into the top of it. They will more than likely have spades on the wires to just push onto the cap.
put cover back on and away you go.
Just in case I need to tell you, pull the power out before you start, and short the cap terminals with a screwdriver just in case any charge left in it.
