    Default Sound proofing .

Just a question re sound proofing . As I plan to keep the dc inside the shed ,I plan to enclose it with as much sound proofing as possible , something akin to how Bob has ,although his is outside . Given that the suction pipes will obviously have to exit the enclosure inside the shed ,I’m wondering do I need to clad the pipe at the exit point ,just how much sound will escape via the opening . I’m also venting the enclosure through the shed wall ,any suggestions for sound baffling , cheers Gordon

Be very careful with future questions Gordon, BobL spent many hours on that documentation and some of us refer to it as our bible, you ask a question thats been answered in there ....KABOOM

No worries even I've forgotten what I've written and had to go back and read what was there - Gee did I really write all that - must have been a very sleepless night

Gordon, while there is no doubt a lot of information contained in existing threads, it can be hard to find, even for those of us who have been reading it over the years. I often need to do a range of searches to find information that I know is there, so appreciate it can be tricky when you don’t know what’s available to start with.

There’s nothing wrong with asking, and if it’s already been documented someone will point you in the right direction. I don’t think people mind doing so, and would hate to think people are too afraid to ask, especially considering the less than helpful search function on these forums.

I actually think threads like this are useful to us all when we’re trying to find information, as it may use different terms and phrases. It will in turn provide an additional pointer for trying to locate those oft buried nuggets of knowledge.

I made a mdf box for the outlet for my cyclone dust extractor then lined the inside with forms from a mattress.
I used the machines with dust extractor on for a few weeks to make my woodworking work bench then went over to the neighbors asked if I was loud in my cave, the answers were that they hear nothing that bothers them so no worries
