    Default Spare remote for dusty??

Can any technology gurus help me?????

A few years back I fitted a "AC 240V Long Distance High Current 30A Relay RF Wireless Remote Control Switch"
to my dust collection system. Only $21 from ebay and works very well. The recommendation came from the forum and I suspect quite a few forumites may have this unit.

I am trying to find a spare remote transmitter because I keep on losing the one I have when I move from machine to machine in my shed. Ideally two spares would be even better so I can position them strategically around the machinery.

The seller on ebay still has the whole setup for sale but doesn't list the remote transmitter separately for sale. According to the specs it operates on 315MHz. I have the receiver set up for the default setting, ie press top button to start and lower button to stop the dusty.

I have tried searching ebay for a remote that is compatible but being such a technology numby I am obviously not using the correct terminology to search with. I have come across a few similar types of remote but they are all costing more than just purchasing another one or two of the whole setup. I know that is a simple solution and would give me a couple of spare receiver/relay units.

Has anybody acquired spare remote transmitters for this unit and can help me?

Try visiting a locksmith that deals in auto remotes. They will be able to program a remote to suit. ( Retired locksmith)

    You can purchase these

Wireless 315MHz/433MHz 2/4Buttons RF Remote Control Garage Gate Door Transmitter | eBay

    (select 315mhz)
but you have to program them to your receiver.

I wear mine on a lanyard around my neck. If the lanyard is a bright colour then it is easier to find when not worn.

Thanks Lappa and Bohdan, not only did I really not know what terms to search for, I wouldn't have been able to reconfigure the new remotes to the receiver without the links you both have given me. Thanks again.

Flintlock, I think cost may defeat me there. I am a tightarse.

Chris, I hadn't even thought of wearing the remote on a lanyard.

On reflection though, I would be likely to forget I was wearing it and walk out of the shed, take it off later and put it in a 'safe place' that I wouldn't forget whereupon it would be really lost until I found it some months/years later while looking for something else I had put in a 'safe place' and couldn't subsequently find. Unfortunately I have any number of 'safe places' which are currently hiding my bright orange lufkin 8m tape measure, a 3/4" sidchrome socket, 2 sets of keys to a firearms safe (which I had to oxy open in order to rebarrel the locks) and my favourite #2 phillips head screwdriver.

On the other hand, hanging the new remotes on a fixed and non-removeable lanyard next to each machine instead of around my neck may in fact be the ultimate 'safe place' for them.
