    Default The thicky

image.jpgThe dust extraction in the past has been a bit tricky for this machine, but I rose to the challenge with some left over PVC box drain and a blast gate at each end!

    Good job - well done.

I presume this is the before shot?

Yep this before shot shows the gard on the thicknesser. I usually sit it on the trailer and push the shavings in, for clean up later. But this last lot of hardwood I've got, has a real rich carbon smell when worked. Like I'm standing behind a reving motorbike. Almost enough to make you choke, and the shed is fairly open. The mod worked, and the wife has already claimed the extra saw dust for the chook pen! This piece of timber is about 3 mtrs long, for a book case I'm making.
Its a bit of a handful through the thicky, but I get to see the finish straight away, instead of clearing the shavings, then deciding it needs another pass.
