Treated Pine Timber Size for DC Shed
Hi Folks,
I’m looking to build a small outside shed to house a Clearvue I picked up. The footprint is small (2380mm x 1130mm). I’m looking to build the frame from treated pine. Does anyone have any idea on the thickness and width of the timber that’s required for a small shed? I.e MGP10 or MGP12 and what thickness (70mm or 90mm, 35mm or 45mm).
Thanks,
Raymond

70x35 will do the job fine. A metal garden shed is another option to consider

They use 70 x 35 for a full size house (that does horrify me a little) so I am sure it would be ample for a small shed such as you are describing. Put some diagonal cross bracing in for rigidity, but do a cost comparison as Beardy suggests. I am a little aghast at the cost of timber. Garden sheds (which I call lawn lockers, but that may be an outmoded term today) have standard sizes that might suit.
