Vacuum hose
Hi there,
I recently bought a vacmaster (small SS one) to clean my small garage/workshop. I am keen to make a seperator unit to get rid of the big stuff but finding the vac hose to connect on the inlet side is a problem.
The vacmaster is only 32mm and my plan is to connect 38mm, but where do I get the hose?? It is expensive at bunnings and a cleaning place i called.
I saw the $14/m 2" hose at carbatec, but the vac wont produce adequate flow for this diameter hose....also, it's 14 bucks a metre.
Does anyone have ideas for cheaper hose from somewhere in Syd? Thanks heaps

I get my hose from the dump, they have a shop with all the saved items from the tip face. Got 3 for 50 cents.
Found that there is many different sized hoses, some will fit into 40mm plumbing fittings, and the ones that dont fit into 40mm electrical fittings. They seem to both be marked 40mm but are different sizes.
Cheers Scott

Hi KS, I have started looking at those too, however I am a bit concerned about the internals of the hose being corrogated, thus being easy to wedge stuff in there. Might go hard rubbish hunting.

found a hose extension at:
Universal Vacuum Hose Extension - Vacuum & Steam Cleaners
looks about 1.5m long, but no idea of the diameter...I asked and they said they would find out and to keep an eye on the page for updated information. we will see...might be good...

You might want to try Rapidclean ( think they were called caterclean?) I buy my hose 38mm and 50mm etc Vac hose for about $8 and $15 ( don't quote me) per metre. For the good almost smooth walled stuff. they also sell cuffs/fittings.
I have heard that some of their branches don't sell the hose by the metre? but I know the Newcastle branch does, so ask.
hope this helps.

Thanks inventor, I contacted them and they put me on to davanna cleaning. I bought 3m of 38mm hose from them for 36.30. Thanks for the lead, cheapest I found, and it is pretty much smooth in the middle, so that's good too. Now to make a good dust extraction system to keep my vacuum clean. Also must make some sort of handle/wand thing to vacuum easily.
