Thread: WC2000 enclosure pics

Here are some pics of my Thien collectors

The first three pics show the triton dust bucket converted. Works very well, attach it to the blade guard on the WC2000 and almost zero dust escapes. The last four are of the big banger attached to the DC7, a 44 with a rubber seal in the lid. Once held liquid fertilizer. Best I can tell, no dust or chips make it into the bags on the DC7. A bit of very fine stuff gets into the bag of the Makita vac, but not very much.

Not that any of it hasn't been done before, but I am really pleased with the WC2000 enclosure. The DC7 gets about 99% of the dust and none escapes onto the floor. I could probably get away without the above table extraction, but it's nice not having any dust, compared to before when one cut created a cloud of dust that sometimes caused rain

The collectors are great too. Heaps easier on the machinery.

Me again, ozhunter, wiuth a few questions.

Where did you get the manifold ducting? I have never seen it before, that I know of .

How did you make the blue end cap a snug fit over the saw? What model of saw were you using?

How did you make the top of the WC2000 dust proof?

The manifold ducting came from Auto One.

The blue cap was a perfect fit over the saw without modification, it's held on with a 100mm clamp. The saw is a Triton 235mm.

When I made the panels, I tried to keep the tolerances as close as possible. A piece of weather strip down the long sides fills any gap. The ends were close enough after cutting out the notches for the channel that is on the underside of the table top that I didn't need to add anything. I plugged the gaps inside the top and bottom rails of the bench with pieces of exercise mat foam cut to be a tight fit.
