Yep that remains to be seen, he put his hand under the duct and guessed about 20m/s which may not be that far off but I gather he has appropriate gear. I was more intersested in whether, assuming it can be done accurately, it is worthwhile testing with the different blast gates open to see how effective the various machine connections are and whether we're in the ball park flow wise. I'm also curious as to whether the enclosure causes resistance - ie would try with some panels removed.

I hope you can get 1200 CFM which is ~0.6m^3/s thru a 150mm duct.
If this is evenly distributed cross a 150mm duct that's an air speed of 33 m/s
But the air is not evenly distributed across the and can be up to 1.4x faster in the middle of the duct compared to the average speed so about 47 m/s - not many meters can measure that speed.
That's why a larger test duct is used.
