The '37 has a more pronounced 'V' in the grille, and different flutes on the engine side doors...
Not too many roadster pictures available...

But all the body shapes ran the same grille...

I'm going for the 2 door XP if I can find one.
But I do know where there is a very nice push button auto 62 valiant.
Nice.

An XP wouldn't be bad, but I love the look of those old Valiants. Is a '62 an 'R' or an 'S'?
(I vaguely remember that one had the spare on the boot lid and the other didn't.)
I used to have an XM Falcon Squire 'Woody' years ago. '63, I think. I'd love to make one of those, too.... Steve

My old man had a XM woody wagon.
No this one does not have the tyre in the boot.
It was repainted a few years back. His kids did it for him as a present, all black.
The bloke who owns it got it from his step-father who got it new.
He doesn't drive much. So its straight and parked under cover.
If I can't afford the 15,000 for a 2 door xp, I'll take the 5,000 valiant.
Saw a 2 door xp that was all black and converted to a convertible years ago, nice.
And my sister had the 4 door xp, Real dark midnight blue bottom and cream top half.

Hi Pete great job on the mail truck and the 1930 model Ford looks like it’s coming on just fine… you may remember last year when I was in WA I got the PO doors off you… well I still have not started that project long with a road grader that’s about half finished I started in Jan this year…. the year before that it took me 18 months to make a Seagraves fire engine I think I might be the slowest of the forum for making anything at the moment I am in Central Queensland at Longreach on way to Emerald and then south bound for home to finish a couple of projects that are long overdue

Yep, I remember you. If you see a motorhome with Just Resting on the front, say hello for me. A friend of mine is traveling up around there at the moment.
I've done some more on the roaster. Will get some pictures up in the morning.
Also got some some 120 yr old jarrah to sell for a friend of mine.
Also have some Australan Wood Reviews to sell for another friend, just not sure where to sell them, here and be nice or on ebay so she gets the best price??

OK, Time for an update on my rolling firewood.
Need to read the plans and see what I have enough wood left for.
I've got 20cm x 13cm left of what I think is Qld maple.
Unfortunately the plans don't tell you how much you need or an effective cut plan.
In fact it was 7/8 thick and I planed it all down to 5/8 as the front page says you need, then halfway thru they start telling you to use 7/8 or glue 2 pieces together, AAGH.....
May need to use something else for the top if I can't go get anymore.
Anyway here's the firewood.

Too Good for Firewood....
Too Good for Firewood....Peter.
Pity about the lacking of instructions in the plans.
I hope you have enough extra timber.
Maybe someone close by might donate a little from there offcuts to help out.
Cheers, crowie

Roadster
Pete, looking at your photo's of the work so far, you have accomplished much. It's not far to to the finish & you will have a model to be proud of. So get your act together & finish this project, OK.
Then their are many more model's to contemplate.
Regard's Jim

Thanks Jim,
I think I have just enough timber to finish. but the rear guards will only be 5/8 and not 7/8.
I'll go with the WOP but brush it on as that seems to be a nice finish for it.

I don't see any firewood. Looks like a great scale model to me. I wish my first wood model looked this good it would be on display.
