    Derek,

    The parts are looking great.
Every time I visit this forum I get tool envy. The tabletop router and sander are something I'd love to have since at present all my forming and sanding are done with paper, knives, files and hand saws.
Guess I'll just keep watching you masters and enjoy the builds.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Thank you so much Derek. Found a couple different different brands of the bit you have. A Porter Cable for $38 on amazon. Have to add that to my tool list.

The new seat looks great. Job well done.

Glad you found some Bret it is surprising how useful they are.

Well the new seat is complete and I am much happier with it than the first. When you see them together you can see why I was not pleased with it.

Both for comparison the new one is the correct size(don't ask how I managed to make the first one wrong)

Sorry Jim I seemed to have missed your post, thank you for the comments. The router table is a home made one and the sander is as you can see only run from the drill press, a tool of many functions.

Thank you Peter it was not really intended as a tutorial as I am not that good at putting words down..

Nothing done today as I am having a lazy day well except doing something's in the garden

Update work has taken a step backwards as one of the side panels has warped badly, I left it in the window area of the shed in full sunshine. So that part will not sit flat against the boot section of the car so have spent the day remaking that part.

Sorry no photo's The good new is that I have finally started to glue up. Oh yes I also had to make the seat support as somewhere along the line I had missed making it when I made everything else.

Also in between the last post and this one I have made another money box for someone.

Tomorrow is another day and should be able to get some more glueing up done and also take some photo's.

Once the main body is complete and sealed I will start on the steering wheel, wheels and axles, as these items I will set up one of my lathes to make them

Well have started glueing up now. Pictures show what I have glued so far, will let it dry over night and then do some more. Once the main body is done I can cut some of the inner mudguards to fit the body

    It's looking really good Derek.
I love the router beading on the edges of the sides. The seat came up well, too.

    Derek,

    Looking real good

Are you going to paint the exterior or let the wood show? I notice the mudguards are a different from the chassis. Either way it is coming along nicely.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Thank you Jim I have decided to leave all the wood natural except for a coat of finish. On the original the chassis is a light coloured wood the same as the body.

Anyway A little more done after making the bonnet three times.(I don't know why but I seem to be remaking lots of parts for this project)

Front grill shaped and fitted as well as the bonnet

Soon be starting to fit some of the detail as well as making the windscreen. Plenty more to do

    Derek,

It'll look really cool in natural wood.

My wife is a big fan of high gloss finishes while I kind of prefer semi-gloss...

Or is some kind of oil rub to be used.......

Whatever it is, I'm sure it will be fantastic!

    Cheers,

    Jim

It's reassuring to hear that I'm not the only one who has to make things a couple of times before they look right.
Looking great Derek. I'm enjoying this.

Thank you guys. It hopefully will be done in a satin finish.

A little more done today on the assembly, does not look much but due to the flimsiness of the parts it took longer than expected. Also managed to cut out some rough blanks for the windscreen surround and dash board will work on them tomorrow. The mudguards are only placed to look at the body.
