    Thank you both.

Well the next toy build should be started in about a week or 2. It is going to be Pink have 4 wheels and really rocks, That is all you are getting at the moment until I start it and I imagine you would like another W.I.P.

    Default This build in print

Ok I know this is bringing up an old thread of mine but I have a small confession about the build of this car. Since finishing it I was approached by a English woodworking magazine about writing a article for them.
Well the short version is that it is now in the January 2014 issue which was released on the 13th of December of "The Woodworker" magazine. I know that one or two of you already know this and unfortunatly I can not put the article up to show you for obvious reasons.

But I thought that a small gloat to the fact that I managed to get a toy build into a magazine has to be good to show other woodworkers that it can be fun.

I hope more of you have read it.

Hope you all don't mind my little Gloat

I don't see it as gloating Derek. Just pride in your work. And you should be proud.
(I'm looking forward to seeing the article when my copy arrives.)

Edit: And make sure you get a couple of copies - one for thumbing through and one to put away.

Well, my copy of January's 'The Woodworker' finally arrived today, so I got to check out the article.
Very well put together with lots of pics. Right up the front on page 14, too.
It's very informative and will no doubt encourage many new model-makers to have a go.
    Well done Derek.

I originally ordered my copy at the newsagent, but they stuffed up and it didn't arrive, so I ordered a copy online, here: The Woodworker January 2014 - Back Issues - The Woodworker - Magazines - My Hobby Store
It only took 8 days to get here all the way from the UK, too.

I'm a new member and I joined this forum mainly because I'm interested it the model/toy building. Must say, this thread has really inspired me. Thank you for taking the time to document your build. I shows me it can be done, but I have a long long way to go. Hope to follow more of your builds soon.

Steve glad you managed to get a copy I particularly like how they added the background to the main picture.

PLD welcome this is a great forum especially for toy making. Take a good look at some of the other works on here as it will give you plenty of ideas there are some great builders of models on here so don't be afraid to ask questions someone will probably know the answer.
People like to see W.I.P,s (Work In Progress) as it shows different ways of doing things. Look forward to seeing some of you models soon
