I got a few more things made for the truck today. Finished the air cleaner assembly. And I made a new fuel tank. The one from the plans was kinda lame.

So I tore the truck down to parts. I am in the process of sanding and finishing. Just for giggles I took a shot of all the parts laid out. Then I counted them. 253 parts! 140 are from the plans. I added 113 custom parts. It is going to take a while but I have to sand every part and put 3 coats of poly on.

Especially all the extras which make you truck look very real.
Now you have do the final assembly of the jigsaw puzzle.
Looking forward to seeing it finished.

Brilliant work Bret and great WIP with terrific pics.. Have you any idea how many pieces in the whole project? Would be interesting to know. This is going to be a sensational model when finally assembled. Not far off now.
Reality is no background music.

John,
253 is how many individual pieces there are. And thanks for the comments. I don't really want to put a finish on it as I don't enjoy finishing. But I know when I finish I will be glad I did. Plus the wood takes on a different look when finished.

Thank you guys for all your support. I am going to continue to be humble and not claim the best on the forum. I will say I never thought one of my threads would get over 5,000 views.
I am glad I finally took the plunge and starting posting. I am sure there are many more people who are on here that don't post their work that are just as good or better!
I really just enjoy sharing my work and also seeing others work.

Well more progress. The cab is done and glued together. No more blue tape! The engine is also finished. Started on the frame and all the other parts. The finish is shiny enough I think I am not going to use micro mesh due to all the hard to get to places.
