Bret, on the pics of the grill, did you have to mask off the black parts?
That would have been a cow of a job wouldn't it?
Cheers
JimBeing happy doesn't mean everything is perfect. It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfections....

Looking awesome Bret!! I've kinda been wondering if you were cranking on the Scania!! I got so used to seeing the blue tape, it kinda looks naked without it...maybe add some blue penstripes?? LOL! Just kidding!!
Happy Thanksgiving!!

Thank you guys for the comments.
Jim I did not mask off the grill. First I painted all of the black area with an artist brush. Then I just painted the poly on the outside very carefully. No masking required if you take your time. If you got back to post #38 and #43 you can see where I painted the black first.

Hey Bret...just curious...do you poly the axles too? or leave them raw? Does the poly make the axles sticky?

Wolf,
I will probably not put poly on them. Though you could you would just have to rub them down with steel wool and put some wax on them.

Bret,
Bloody nice job, you have taking it pass the plan and giving it you own personnel touch, not sure of the overall size but it looks like 750mm long, thats why i scaled up to get more detail into the models, i did have that plan also but have misplaced it somewhere and i thought it looked a little plain but now what you done is great ,it really make a huge difference. Once again well done keep them coming.

Hello Scotty,
You are spot on she is about 28.5" with the bull bar. I put the last coat of poly on all the parts last night. Should have the grand finale here shortly. Just have to put everything together and do some gluing. Thanks for the compliments. Means alot coming from a craftsman such as yourself.

Nice work on the finish Bret, I think it is really bringing out the features of the timber and looks really beautiful. It will look even greater given a few days for the finish to cure properly and settle down, Excellent work no doubt about that. An excellent graphic step by step WIP which has been most informative. It is great to have you share your ideas and skills with us.
I am sure the grand finale on this one will be well worth the time and effort you have put into it.Reality is no background music.
Cheers John

Couple of teasers
Bret, that is looking fantastic...
The colours in the timber are beautiful...
A job very well done...
Keep going with the finishing.
Don't rush or you'll muck something up; just take your time like you did with the rest of the project...
Prefection always takes time & effort.
Cheers, crowie
