Home made balsa wood hardener
Hello all,
I see most of N. Americans use Earls Wood Hardener when it comes to use it for balsa plane scale models and other woodcrafts.
I live in Costa Rica and I cannot import this product that easily due to a number of regulations. Down here there is nothing like it and I cannot find a substitute.
...and then I found this web site!
Do any of you have an idea how can I make a homemade balsa wood hardener? Only alternative so far is fiberglass resin.
Muchas gracias por su ayuda,

I've used the stuff, and it seemed a lot like a very thin PVA glue to me. It's pricey and I wasn't overly impressed with it - I'd go for one of the nice thin boat building epoxy resins like WEST Epoxy which will give you both an adhesive and something that will reinforce the face strength of balsa.
