Default Where do I find scale model plans?

Hi, you guys have inspired me to learn how to make scale models but so far my google searching have failed to find any good plans, I was hoping someone could help me out.
I'm interested in cars and planes(hoping to build a spitfire one day)
    Cheers.

Many on here use Toys and Joys plans as well as Gatto plans. Have a look at this site and type in plans in the search box Hobby | RC | Patchwork | Model Boats | Model Aircraft | MyHobbyStore I know it is in the UK so you would have to ask about postage.

    Good links Steve.

Just a thought... I might see if there's not already a list of all these links/plans, and either put it in a Sticky at the top of the Scale Models, or the Library.
Too many projects, so little time, even less money!

Not a bad idea. Otherwise they'll be quickly buried when this thread's done with.

I should say that I haven't dealt with all of them, so can only really vouch for Gatto Plan Supply and Toys & Joys. That's just the list I had bookmarked for reference. Bret, (bj383s), pointed out the blueprints site to me. A handy source of info.

If you are interested in model horse drawn vehicles, a great source for plans is the Guild of Model Wheelwrights. Check out their website The Guild of Model Wheelwrights - Farm Waggons Farm Carts Woodland Vehicles Timber Bob Turnwrest Plough Gypsy Caravan Scale Model Horse Drawn Vehicles - John Thompson David Wray Barrie Voisey

good links ... i have used both gatto and toys and joys for plans ... both good ones

i have also used blueprints site ... quite useful, mostly free unless you want to get vector drawings .... they do have spitfires on there from memory although you used to have to search on supermarine

if you google greg edwards data sheets if you are interested in trains ... i have several of those (actually picked up on ebay) .... also for trains the railway historical bookshop in sydney and model train shop brighton, melbourne have heaps of books that can help ... i believe the one in sydney also has detailed information and drawings on locos and rolling stock but you may have to visit them to see it (sorry that is not necessarily much help to you)

sorry also that i haven't posted links for you but i am on the ipad at present

    regards david

p.s. i have also used a number of the plans from the last last link above (faram) but they are toys to be played with rather than models ... i have made a heap of them for young kids and also make some for the charity xmas tree each year

Hi Htl, I often get messages from lads around the globe wanting to start off with something in model building. Asking for plans that I actually don't have as I build different way. Can I share your pictures with my Wooden Custom Cars community on Facebook?

    Thumbs up

Silverlux this was a SketchUp free drawing I found and added the measurements to, so should be ok but do a search on SketchUp, for a better Idea how things work over there.
Do a search in SketchUp 3d Warehouse under woody.
