Awesome detail John. You are building all this with no plans and the front steering works! Wow. And you already have a finish on it. You are inspiration to us all. Keep the pics coming. I hope you plan on building an engine for it.

A member of the woody club arrived to see me this afternoon, with something I would like to see, a 1/24 metal scale model of a 1907 Rolls Royce, over 100 pieces hand assembled. I should have had it before I started my model.
I have doubts about the rear suspension on my model after seeing this, maybe some more research to check it out. Its fully detailed underneath but I forgot to photograph it. hope you like it , John

Just a thought John, if you don't mind asking you woody club member for some extra detailed photos from every which angle for you.....
If he was good enough to being it over to show you, I'd doubt if the answer would be no.
    Cheers, crowie

    Does this help at all?

Yonnee, During the 17 years the Silver Ghost was in production they changed the rear springs from cantilever to normal suspension springs , what year the change was made, I haven't been able to find out. The plan of the chassis I used for details was dated 1911. regards John.

The search I did specifically targeted 1907, so I can only assume that those two pics are from that year model.

Some progress made, made a mock up of a motor, radiator and bonnet, both sides lift up, started on front mudguards and running boards.
Still to work out how to fit the motor to the chassis. A lot of trial and error with no plans to work to. regards John.P1010278.jpgP1010276.jpgP1010279.jpg

    Looking great.

You can see straight away what make of car this is just from the parts that you have produced so far. What have you used for the hinges on the bonnet panels.

Have been busy on the body work, each side has four panels(2 doors and 2 fixed),rear is 1 panel with 32 x 32 corners ,hollowed and rounded.
The rear mudguards are to partly fitted into the body, their the next job as the back seat sits over the guards, then the remainder of the internals.
Three attachments , sitting on the kitchen bench. I forgot the timber for the body is Jelutong. cheers John.
