I am slowly completing the fuselage bracing. Just have to finish one side and the bottom bracing...which has no turnbuckles...so no threading thru the eye of a needle!

Then comes installation of the machine guns, gun sight and the seating.........and that completes the fuselage.......

The final assembly should be a real treat.......what with all the parts being somewhat fragile and my intention of using epoxy.

Oh.... forgot about having to thread all the control cables, which kind of happens part way thru final assembly....

And then I get to hang the engine and prop...

All this, hopefully, before the end of June.....got some traveling to do before then as well as over the summer....

Along with some pics of the rigging I threw in a pic of my completed instrument panel. After placing the microscopic paper decals, I used some clear coat to give the appearance of glass to the instruments....looks pretty cool....in my opinion

Finally got to remove the fuselage from the jig. It means the bracing is finished! Except for all the wing, strut and landing gear bracing....

Oh well, on we go....

Really coming together. So MANY parts. I could not to that!!!

Can't wait now as you get towards the end of your great build. It's all coming together now

The tail section bracing is complete.....just the bracing....now I get to balance the fuselage on its nose and run the control cables.

Note: Looking ahead while waiting for glue to dry, the instructions say to cut the flange off of four eyelets to be used for cable clamps. Unfortunately, there were not enough eyelets provided so I'll be adapting since I don't wish to wait for replacement parts. I may go to the local hobby store and see if they have small ones....they do a lot of RC airplane business so I suspect they will.
Inventory and identify parts before beginning the project! (I think I have told myself that before )

I am also getting a bit nervous about the amount of control and bracing cable provided. Even though I believe I've been doing a good job of minimizing waste, it still appears I may come up a bit short...we'll see......

Anyway....some more pics.... It doesn't look like much but with the size and need to be extremely careful not to do any damage it took a while.

I decided that the brass eyelets would look out of place and am using black thread to replicate the cable clamps instead. At the this scale it, to me, looks more 'real'.
After some time out of town I found my way back to the hangar......

Running the control cabling is the newest challenge. Since it runs mostly inside the fuselage frame a couple tweezers and a dental pick are important tools. It also is mostly done with the nose down so an adjustable height helps as well. It has been a small challenge to thread the 'cable' through the various routings and tie it off while keeping all the lines in tension. I'm almost finished one side and the learning will make the other go more smoothly. Next comes the landing gear and then the wings. I anticipate the cabling to the wing flaps will be even more of a challenge, once the wings have been attached.......will use epoxy from here to the finish.
