    Default making whitewall tyres

hi heres how i made my whitewall tyres for anybody that is interested these wheels are going to be 2 inch so i start by drawing a circle about 2 1/4 radius with a compass on a bit of 3/4 walnut i then drill a 42mm hole 3/8 deep with a forstner bit i then mark out just over 42mm on a piece of 3/8 thick maple and drill a 9mm hole in the centre i then cut it out with the scrollsaw i then put the maple in the lathe using a screw chuck and turn it until it fits inside the walnut then i drill a 9mm hole through the walnut and put it on the lathe and turn the outside to 2 inches i then drill a 32mm hole in the maple 3/8 deep i then cut a piece of walnut just over 32 mm and turn it in the lathe so it fits in sde the maple i then drill a 25mm hole in the walnut then champer the edges i finish it of with a bit of 3/4 dowel for the hubcap you could make them just using the drill press and a wheel sanding jig if you havent got a lathe hope this is some help to somebody
