    Default 3rd Time Lucky

Well so far here are my casting attempts

Attempt 1 Casting Attempt 1.jpg Too many bubbles and colour issues both in the label and timber (timber looks very washed out)

Attempt 2 Casting Attempt 2.JPG Casting Sheoak Pods using my pressure pot. mistakes.. forgetting to drill hole in plywood base in pot to equalize pressure and insufficient support so when plywood base cracked it fell over and this was the result.

Attempt 3 Casting Attempt 3.jpg Not bad, a lot of small bubbles (noticed when turning the 1st one, blue and gold one, yet to turn the rest).

    Result P1010110.JPG

Looks like I might be doing something right.

You are off & running now, great first up effort. You do realise now that every object you come across will beg the question "I wonder if I can cast that".

    That is for sure.

I have had 3 successful pens out of this bunch so far. One I have on the lathe at present has some issues, some large bubbles against the pen tube might cause it to be a loss, but trying hard to save it.
