    Default Bit of stabilising

As I am leaving for my around Aus tour in a few weeks, I needed to use up my remaining Cactus Juice stabilising resin, as I can't take it with me no leave it behind (it will go off). Beedeejay (Ben) wanted to see my stabilising set-up so I invitted him around for a demo.

I ended up stabilising a heap of corn cobs I dried from the last few years and some red ash/mango/bonewood. I started with some blue for the corn cobs, then red for some corn cobs and some red ash, then combined the red and blue to form a sort of purple for the remainder. Ended up with just under 0.5 litre of purple resin left. I also still have a 1/3 gal of original Cactus Juice, so will still need to do some more wood before I go.

I find the corn cobs frustrating as they take a lot of resin, but the colour/stabiliser only penetrates some parts and not all the cob. The rotten/spalted Bonewood/Mango penetrated well, but I think the harder Red Ash needed more time .

I roughly turned a few so you can see the final colours.

    Cheers
