Blo_dy Pod Blanks
Whilst casting some bright red croc blanks last weekend I had some left over red resin. I thought I would cast some sheoak pods with the left over, as you do , but added far too many pods to the mix . Thinking quickly, I decided to keep mixing the pods until it was starting to set, so the little dimples were coated with the red resin. I then poured them into a flat mold and then mixed up some contrasting bright yellow resin and poured it over the top. Slice them up and then stabilized the blanks along with the croc blanks.
In preparation for heading off I was peeling the foil of the stabilized blanks and found the above . All the pods have a bright red halo in a bright yellow matrix with small red viens. Looks like the pods are bleeding, hence the name .
Can't wait until I turn this one, but will have to as I am heading off, perhaps at the Katoomba get together maybe . Might be keeping these ones for myself

Very cool. Red and yellow are always great together. The bleeding effect shows promise doesn't it ?

That one should look pretty spectacular when turned but stop teasing us when you are not going to be able to turn them for a while Enjoy your trip mate and look forward to hearing from you during your travels.

Looks like small hearts (not the valentine type). If they are bleeding you will do well selling them to a heart surgeon in pen form or a rejected lover.
