    Default Bluegum & Deep pour epoxy

    I've been offered some Blue gum slabs that are an unusual shape and would make a nice coffee table top, resin style. I have no experience with this timber and neither does my Oldman. We are concerned with it contracting and the shifting forces applied to the epoxy. Does anybody have any experience with this? Any input appreciated about the timber or issues you have had with timbers and epoxy pours due to movement

    If the timber is not completely dry and done all its bending, bowing and twisting then don't do any epoxy pours until it is. When you are ready of the epoxy process there is an aluminium foil tape to seal any cracks on the underside, don't use masking tapes as the epoxy will leak through. You'll learn all this as you proceed.
